Lexicon & Concepts

The words we use, defined once, tagged by area.

The platform's vocabulary is precise on purpose. The Area column sorts each term into Concepts, Data, Security, Infrastructure, or Apps.

TermAreaWhat it is
Runline FrameworkConceptsGovernance-driven, opinionated architecture: a set of primitives, domain-specific app templates, AI-native services, protocols, and designs. (Composite of the Grid, the Tower, Circuit, and the Runner fleet.)
Runline COSConceptsWhat the Framework becomes once it runs a whole credit union (see Company OS).
Runline (workflow service)AppsA governed workflow service for one domain: state, approval gates, audit, sync. Ships a Prime Runner.
WorkstreamConceptsAn SOP as code, the workflow a Runner executes. (Formerly "Playbook", renamed once we built Workstreams.)
RunnerConceptsAn AI agent operating inside a Runline, optimized for its domain.
Prime RunnerConceptsThe durable, long-lived Runner for a domain at a specific institution (named uniquely per CU).
PilotConceptsThe human directing Runners: reviews, approves, redirects. Human-in-the-loop.
Knowledge FabricDataCDC pipelines, normalized cross-core schemas, and semantic search. The intelligence foundation.
CircuitInfrastructureThe org nervous system: the real-time event / CDC layer moving data across systems.
The GridSecurityThe AI control plane: auth, rate limiting, the kill-switch, and audit for all agent traffic.
IdentitySecuritySelf-hosted, org-scoped auth: the OIDC provider every Runline app authenticates against.
The TowerAppsThe observability and command surface: Runner activity, costs, audit.
RallyAppsThe platform-wide chat, presence, and messaging ecosystem (CometChat-backed).
ArcAppsAgent Relay Chat: the mobile and web client for talking to Runners.

Recent shifts

Playbooks → Workstreams (renamed). Rallies (orchestration) → dropped; "Rally" now means the chat ecosystem. Derez removed as a lexicon term. Canonical product-overview.md still uses the old vocabulary and needs a pass.
