Self-Hosting
Everything on the credit union's own infrastructure, for maximum control.
In the Self-Hosting model, the control plane and the Runners run entirely on the credit union's own infrastructure, on-prem or in its own cloud, for maximum data-residency and operational control. It is the most isolated mode, and the one the strictest examiners ask for.
What the credit union operates
In self-hosting, the CU runs the platform itself: the Grid, the Runner fleet, and the data layers all sit inside its own perimeter, with Runline providing the software, the updates, and the support. Nothing regulated leaves the institution's infrastructure. The governance model, gates, kill-switch, audit, is identical to every other mode; only the operator changes.
The trade-off
Self-hosting gives the most control and the most isolation, in exchange for the most operational responsibility. It is rarely where a credit union starts. The managed-first path lets an institution prove value quickly and move to self-hosting later, on the same platform, when its risk posture requires it, rather than choosing the hardest mode on day one.
